And Whitney told me that she's also tried it with cucumber slices. Yummy way to get in veggies! And I could be wrong, but it seems chickpeas would be in the same category as beans, meaning you would be getting protein with that hummus! See if you can replace a not-so-healthy snack with something better for you.

A Different Type of Chip
Two weeks ago we had a delicious Shabbat feast on a Friday night with our Jewish friend, Jonah. He made us a fabulous, kosher meal. One of the things he introduced us to (although it's not exclusively Jewish) was this:
Hummus. Pureed chickpeas, from what I can tell, with various flavors. It's a delicious Mediterranean treat that is good on so many things -- bread, pretzels, tortilla chips, etc. Now you should know that it's prolly not the best for you; it is rather fattening (5 grams for 2 tablespoons), BUT, using Jonah's idea, we've also been eating hummus with these:

My roommate hearts hummus and introduced it to me. I hear it's pretty easy to make it on your own, too. I've never heard of carrot chips before, but they actually sound kinda good!
I was introduced to hummus when I lived in Chatsworth over 4 years ago. I don't really buy it, though, because it seems like I lose my liking for it (I can only take so much of it) before I finish the container. It's good on pitas also!
